About Us
WHO WE ARE
TOHAid is a registered non-profit based in Nakivale Refugee Settlement, Isingiro district, southwestern Uganda. TOHAid was founded by Benefice Tuyisenge, an orphaned Burundian refugee, on August 12, 2015, to work with other vulnerable refugee children and youth to overcome the challenges they were facing in education, health and security as result of the financial instability in refugee communities and political crises in East African countries.
MISSION
To support vulnerable children and youth to further their education, acquire knowlege and skills through the promotion of talents, and maintain good health, positive attitudes and safety in the community.
Objectives
- To promote quality education among vulnerable refugee children;To promote a healthy lifestyle among vulnerable refugee children and youths.
- To support livelihood activities for self-reliance among refugees.
- To discover, nurture and promote talents among gifted refugee children and youth.
- To fight and advocate for Children’s rights.
- To provide spiritual counselling to the traumatized and stigmatized children and youth through discipleship.
